Application for a Development Permit under the Niagara Escarpment Planning and Development ActON00825 – formerly FMS0113 A Development Permit is an authorization required by section 24 of the Niagara Escarpment Planning and Development Act (NEPDA) for development proposed on properties that fall within a specific area prescribed in R.R.O. 1990 Regulation 826. A permit is required to ensure that any proposed development maintains the Niagara Escarpment and surrounding lands substantially as a continuous natural environment, and that only development compatible with that natural environment is allowed. This permit requires consideration of the potential impacts of a development activity, such as a physical development or undertaking or to initiate a change in use of a property or structure, on the natural and scenic values of the Escarpment environment.016-1000
