The Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act, 1997, prohibits the sale/purchase of game wildlife or specially protected wildlife, including pelts, except under the authority of a licence and in accordance with the regulations. Section 8 of Ontario Regulation 666/98 (Possession, Buying and Selling of Wildlife) enables a person who holds a Fur Dealer’s Licence to buy or sell pelts. In addition, a Fur Dealer’s Licence is generally required to tan, pluck or treat pelts.

The Objection Form is a requirement in section 0.5(9) of O. Reg. 244/97, under the Aggregate Resources Act, to serve as a record of outstanding objections with respect to an application for an Aggregate licence, after the applicant has attempted to address all comments during the consultation period.

The Public Notice of Application Form in subsection 0.4(1) of O. Reg. 244/97, under the Aggregate Resources Act, is for an applicant of an aggregate permit or licence to notify landowners within 120m of a proposed pit or quarry, to post the notice in a newspaper and to post on a sign at the proposed site (licence only).

This is the Notice of Activity on Public Land and Shorelands form a person must complete and submit to the Minister to satisfy the notice requirements set out in subsection 8 (3) 2 and 5 (2) 3 of Ontario Regulation 239/13 under the Public Lands Act, R.S.O. 1990. for the purpose of maintenance, repair or replacement of erosion control structures on shore lands and construction or placement of buildings within unpatented mining claims.

This licence is required for individuals to keep, propagate, buy and sell game birds in captivity for the purposes of supporting hunting (e.g., game bird hunting preserves, train and trial, municipal programs) or for personal consumption. Game birds kept under this licence cannot be released without additional authorization. Applicants must submit a complete licence application indicating which species of game birds they are seeking authorization to keep before acquiring any birds.

In general, you can keep a dead wild animal or bird you have found or been given. In some cases, you need to register that you have a dead wild animal in order to keep it. Registering for a Notice of Possession allows you to keep the dead wild animal for personal use. You must keep the confirmation of registration you receive for as long as the animal is in your possession. Submission Requirements: This form is to be used to register: Possession of a carcass or part of a carcass for certain wildlife species regulated under the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act, 1997. There is a reporting requirement for activities carried out under a Licence to Collect fish for Scientific Purpose. This form is an electronic version of the mandatory report. The specific regulation requiring this report reads: O. Reg. 664-98 34.1 & O. Reg. 261/05, s. 9.

The form provides a template for Examiner's to provide well information for annual and semi-annual examinations. These reports are legislated through the Provincial Operating Standards. Examinations take place under the Exameriner's Program, which is administered by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry's Petroleum Operations Section. The form covers all five (5) classes of examination in one form.

This procedural guidance document is intended for those proponents with renewable energy projects proposed in whole or in part on provincial Crown land who have received a Feed-In Tariff (FIT) 5 energy procurement contract offer by the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO).

This new, streamlined, AODA compliant form will be available to MNRF staff across the province. This form is used by a variety of MNRF staff to initiate amendments to area-specific land use policy housed within the Crown Land Use Policy Atlas (CLUPA).

A Trapping Licence, issued under the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act, 1997 (FWCA) and its regulations, authorizes a person to hunt or trap furbearing mammals, black bear and other small game in the area designated on the licence and in accordance with the licence conditions (e.g., quotas) and regulations. This application form must be submitted to the local MNR Work Centre prior to a person being authorized to trap. This application also serves as a licence renewal form for authorization to trap in subsequent years.

This form is required for all escapes or unauthorized releases of cervids (members of the deer family, both native and non-native). The Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act (FWCA) requires cervid owners (person who is keeping the cervids in captivity) to: (1) promptly notify the Ministry of all escapes and unauthorized releases, (2) address the escape/release in coordination with the Ministry, and (3) complete and submit this form (FW4020) If the owner cannot submit the form promptly, they should provide the required details to their Ministry work centre via telephone, or as directed by the work centre.

If the holder of a Licence to Own and Operate a Train and Trial Area no longer wishes to operate their train and trial area during the period in which their licence is valid, they may request that the licence be transferred to another individual to own and operate that same train and trial area. The transferee (proposed new licence holder) and the transferor (current/outgoing licence holder) must complete this Application to Transfer a Licence to Own and Operate a Train and Trial Area form and submit to their local ministry work centre.

This form (Part 2) is to be used by Commercial Bait Harvesters that have BHAs within the Lake Simcoe watershed and want to have their Emerald Shiners tested for VHS as part of the Lake Simcoe Emerald Shiner Testing Program, which would enable Emerald Shiners that test negative for VHS to be transported out of the Southern Bait Management Zone and into the Central BMZ and the Northeast Testing Program Area. Applicants need to submit both Part 1 and Part 2 of the application for screening and approval. This form (Part 2) provides details on each of the Holding Facilities identified in Part 1.

Generally, wildlife cannot be kept in captivity in Ontario. There are some exceptions provided through authorization for persons who engage in approved activities. Persons may apply for a Wildlife Scientific Collector’s Authorization to capture, kill, temporarily possess, and/or release wildlife for educational or scientific purposes. This is the application form for a Wildlife Scientific Collector’s Authorization. Applicants must submit this completed application form as well as any required supporting materials. Individuals interested in applying for an Apprentice Falconry Licence must arrange to be sponsored by a holder of a General Falconry Licence or Commercial Falconry Licence who has a least five years’ experience as a trainer, hunter, keeper and handler with raptors. The “Certification of Sponsorship” portion of this form must be completed by the applicant’s sponsor and submitted to the MNR as part of the application for an Apprentice Falconry Licence. Upon completion of the apprenticeship, the “Certificate of Apprenticeship” portion of this form can be completed by the Apprentice Falconry Licence holder’s sponsor. The submission of a completed Falconry Sponsor and Certification form to the MNR demonstrates the Apprentice Falconry Licence holder’s completion of the apprenticeship described in section 14 of O.Reg. 668/98: Wildlife in Captivity.

A licence to Transport Live Fish is issued under authority of the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act and is required to transport live fish or live spawn, other than baitfish, that have been taken from Ontario waters. This form allows an individual to apply for this licence. May be used to approve transport of live fish for the purposes of a fishing competitive event. Fish are then transported back into the originating lake. Issued for discrete dates and locations. Licence conditions may include holding tank water condition requirements, release of fish, record keeping requirements, record productions, among others.
