ON00825 – formerly FMS0113 A Development Permit is an authorization required by section 24 of the Niagara Escarpment Planning and Development Act (NEPDA) for development proposed on properties that fall within a specific area prescribed in R.R.O. 1990 Regulation 826. A permit is required to ensure that any proposed development maintains the Niagara Escarpment and surrounding lands substantially as a continuous natural environment, and that only development compatible with that natural environment is allowed. This permit requires consideration of the potential impacts of a development activity, such as a physical development or undertaking or to initiate a change in use of a property or structure, on the natural and scenic values of the Escarpment environment.

The Aggregate Resources Act (ARA) requires all licence and permit holders to submit an annual Compliance Assessment Report to the ministry and municipalities. Regular assessment of compliance helps the licensee or permittee to stay familiar with what activities are permitted on their site. This is the Mandatory Season-End Report that is required to be completed by the holder of a Trapping Licence as per the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act, 1997 and O.Reg. 667/98 (Trapping). Additional instructions can be found on the third page of this form.

This form (Part 2) is to be used by Commercial Bait Harvesters that have BHAs within the Lake Simcoe watershed and want to have their Emerald Shiners tested for VHS as part of the Lake Simcoe Emerald Shiner Testing Program, which would enable Emerald Shiners that test negative for VHS to be transported out of the Southern Bait Management Zone and into the Central BMZ and the Northeast Testing Program Area. Applicants need to submit both Part 1 and Part 2 of the application for screening and approval. This form (Part 2) provides details on each of the Holding Facilities identified in Part 1.

Resident trappers are required to obtain the written permission of landowners upon whose land they wish to trap. The Landowner - Trapper Agreement form should be used by trappers to document written permission to trap on private land. This completed form may be requested by the ministry before the ministry will make any consideration of issuing a resident trapping licence to a person. Information submitted through this form may assist in assignment of harvest quotas for some species.

Section 26 of the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act, 1997 (FWCA) prohibits a person from using a dog to chase live game mammals or game birds during the closed hunting season for the purpose of teaching the dog hunting skills (training) or testing the dog’s hunting skills (field trial) unless the person has the authorization of the Minister. This application can be used to apply for an Authorization to Conduct Field Trials and Training which may be issued to authorize these activities during certain discrete periods of time outside of the hunting season for the game species being chased.

This form is to be completed by any licence or permit holder applying to the ministry to make a change to their licence, permit, or site plan under sections 13, 13.1, 13.2, 30.1, or 37.2 of the Act.
